Blockchain fan HSBC bolsters global digital team

HSBC’s digital team has grown to over 5,500 worldwide and the bank is currently recruiting more than 1,000 roles

HSBC, which has established itself as a key player in the blockchain in banking space, has made a series of new hires in its Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Digital team.

Jesper With-Fogstrup is the new Global Head of Digital as a Channel. He previously worked at ComparetheMarket.com where he was Chief Operating Officer and has also held a number of executive positions in the online travel industry.

Kate Simon has come onboard as Global Head of Commercialisation. She joins from The Walt Disney Company where she had global responsibility for growth strategies and business performance of “DisneyLife”. 

Phil Fearnley has been announced as Head of Strategic & Organisational Development, responsible for shaping and integrating the digital agenda across the bank. Prior roles include Digital Director for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), where he lead the development of the original BBC iPlayer and the launch of a range of mobile apps for BBC News, BBC Sport, BBC Weather and CBBC.
