Blockchain gaming platform Plair has announced the launch of Plair Alpha – a decentralised global gaming ecosystem built on the VeChain blockchain.
Back in October 2018, Plair unveiled a product demo showcasing the main dashboard which enables the creation of esports tournaments and live streaming.
Users of Plair can earn rewards for playing, creating, and viewing content alongside interacting with other users.
During the product demo, it was revealed Plair has plans to facilitate both one-versus-one and team-based tournaments for popular games such as League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and Fortnite.
Plair’s aim is to unite core features from popular gaming and streaming platforms such as Twitch, Discord, and Steam on one platform.
Like many other crypto and blockchain-based gaming platforms, the Plair platform will be fuelled by the Plair token – similar to how Ethereum utilises ‘gas’.
According to the project’s roadmap, the alpha version of the platform was scheduled to go live in March 2019.
In January 2019, Plair announced on Twitter that it had received more than 1,200 alpha test registrations and that it would be raising the rewards from 50m Plair to 250m Plair.
Flash forward to today and Plair has now reached a new milestone with the launch of its alpha test platform. Once again the news was broke on Twitter.
The tweet read: “We are happy to announce PLAIR ALPHA – the fruits of our dedication and hard work to revolutionise the esports world – is now launched!”
According to Plair’s website and roadmap, the next major event for the project will be the alpha release of its streaming service in December 2019.
