The company’s first wave of auctions, launched last December, raised $137,500 (£103,842). Of this, $87,000 (£65,704) was contributed from a lunch with Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver, toward his charity of choice AntiWar.com.
The second wave includes power lunches with Marco Streng, Co-founder and CEO of Genesis Mining; Miko Matsumura, cryptocurrency expert and conference speaker; Moe Levin, CEO of Keynote; and Jack Lu, Founder and CEO of WanChain Foundation. Proceeds will support the their chosen charitable causes.
“I believe in blockchain and cryptocurrencies and, likewise, I believe in charity,” says Matsumura. “If we put those two together, we can have a brighter future for all.”
The auction will run until 5th July at 5pm BST. It is accepting bids in AidCoin, the ERC20 token that aims to become the preferred method to donate, as well as Bitcoin, Ethereum, US Dollars and Euro.
“This is a great opportunity for AidCoin to be exposed to a much wider audience, and showing the success from such live events will help to burgeon our relationships with the most important decision makers in the crypto community,” says Federico Malvezzi, Business Development and Project Manager at AidCoin.
All final bids will be converted to AidCoin and spent transparently on AIDChain, the payment wallet, by the end beneficiaries: WWF, The Liberation Institute and Alice for Children. “All of these auctions are a real, practical and non-speculative example with a real social impact that bode well for the Aidcoin future growth,” says Francesco Nazari Fusetti, Founder and CEO of CharityStars and AidCoin.
