Leading cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has added support for PayPal withdrawals for their EU customers, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
The latest move is in addition to PayPal being added as a withdrawal method for US customers, which was announced in December.
Before PayPal was added, SEPA and the UK’s Faster Payments service were the only fiat withdrawal options available to EU customers.
Coinbase now hopes that the addition of PayPal will substantiate their “commitment to being the safest and easiest” exchange.
Pretty cool that you can now withdraw fiat from @coinbase account and get it within minutes in your @PayPal account. Paypal can play an important part in facilitating crypto <—> fiat transfers and I hope they realize this opportunity pic.twitter.com/S1hNO0uHpa

The statement from Coinbase read: “As one of the world’s easiest and most widely-used payment platforms, adding PayPal as a withdrawal option for European customers offers another great option for withdrawing their funds.”
The exchange also offered an update for customers outside of the US and EU, stating: “Not in the EU, a European Free Trade Association country or the US? We’re working on expanding support for PayPal in 2019, so stay tuned.”
Coinbase is one of the most widely used cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. It became the most downloaded app on the US App Store during December 2017, with retail investors opting to purchase crypto through Coinbase due to the easy-to-use interface and deposit options.
