Leading cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase have set the festive tone by beginning their “12 days of Coinbase” announcements, revealing a range of crypto gift cards that allow people to gift their family and friends cryptocurrency.
The San Francisco-based exchange have vowed to make a new announcement every day until December 21st, with the first being crypto gift cards.
The gift cards are available through WeGift and can be used with the likes of Nike and Uber. Customers can enjoy no withdrawal fees and up to 10% discounts at select stores.
A further 11 announcements will be released over the coming days as Coinbase attempt to rejuvenate a flailing bear market leading into the festive period.
The move by Coinbase comes after their surprising decision to consider listing 30 altcoins last week, with much of the space being left confused over their apparent U-turn in token listing procedure.
Last year, Coinbase, whose app was the most downloaded on the Apple App Store in December 2017, only had trading available for Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. But now they’ve branched out into several altcoins, with Basic Attention Token, ZCash, Civic, and Loom all being listed in recent weeks.
