Corporate Traveller, one of the world’s largest travel management firms, now accepts Bitcoin

Corporate Traveller – one of the world’s largest travel management firms – has partnered with BitPay to start accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, according to a recent press release.

The firm is the “UK’s leading specialist provider of business travel management services to SME (small or medium-size enterprise) companies”.

It is a division of Flight Centre Travel Group, which has carved a niche in the market for providing travel management services to clients across the UK with an SME-size annual business travel spend between £50,000 to £2 million.

Corporate Traveller has offices in 20 locations nationwide and is the largest and only UK travel management company delivering online and offline services purely for this client sector.

The press release details that as a result of Flight Centre Travel Group’s £10 billion global negotiation strength, Corporate Traveller can give its clients access to unrivalled airfares, hotel rates, and product options not normally available to companies with an SME business travel spend.

The firm has now partnered with BitPay – one of the world’s largest blockchain payment providers – to allow clients to pay for business travel bookings using popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

Through BitPay, payments received in Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash will settle directly in Corporate Traveller’s bank account within two business days – denominated in GBP.

There will be a 1% charge from BitPay to approve the transaction and settlement – which the firm states is still cheaper than using a credit card.
