Crypto artists to celebrate Bitcoin’s 10th anniversary in Paris

Artists from around the world will gather in Paris on 31st October to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Satoshi Nakamoto’s release of the Bitcoin whitepaper.

French artist Pascal Boyart has taken on the organisation of the Bitcoin Art exhibit that is open to the public until 8th October.

Boyart, whose intention is to promote the Crypto Art initiative, is looking to highlight the potential uses that blockchain offers to the art world. The event also gives visitors the opportunity to find and keep Bitcoins that are hidden in artworks.

Artwork sold in crypto

Andy Bauch, Coin Artist and Josephine Bellini are among the artists who are exhibiting their work at the Paris event. Their work can be purchased with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Monero.

Certificates of authenticity will be provided to those who purchase artworks and registered on the blockchain. “Without a doubt, Bitcoin and blockchain have been the biggest revolution over the past 10 years,” says Lorenzo Sconci, owner of the Dubai-based Sconci Art Gallery and ArtWallet CEO. “As revolutions have shaped artistic expression throughout time, there is no doubt that crypto will accomplish the same.”

BTC is limping to its anniversary

Yet while these artists are in party mood, Wall Street Journal has published an article saying BTC “by many measures will be limping into its anniversary”.

The article goes on to say that “last year was a blockbuster for the Bitcoin. Its price soared 1,375% in 2017 as celebrities and financiers took an interest in Bitcoin.” The cryptocurrency market as a whole has suffered significant losses this year amid a relentless bearish sentiment.

So as the aforementioned anniversary fast approaches,  it remains to be seen if Bitcoin will recover and reach the highs of up to $25,000 by year’s end as many investors and experts have predicted.
