Blockchain company Avalanche has partnered with Formula E team Andretti.
The move coincides with Fantom launching an NFT collection with French Formula One driver Pierre Gasly on the tail of major exchange F1 partnerships including FTX sponsoring Mercedes, and crypto.com sponsoring Jaguar.
Avalanche and Andretti Formula E announced the partnership, which will see AVAX serve as the title sponsor ahead of Andretti’s eighth season at the next ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. As part of the partnership Avalanche revealed Andretti’s new season livery at Lisbon Blockchain Week.

The move marks a huge partnership for both parties, and will provide Ava labs with a tremendous opportunity for exposure to the rapidly growing motorsport, which boasts more than 300m viewers and an impressive 156% growth in fans since last season.
“As a founding team of Formula E, we believe in the mission and future of the Series and are excited to be bringing an innovative partner like Avalanche on board,” said Formula E head Michael Andretti.
“I think racing the Formula E series with us is an ideal category for blockchain and the work Avalanche has done to create a fast and sustainable solution makes it a perfect fit for us.
“Not only do we share in the goal of winning on the track, but we also share in the belief that blockchain technology can make a positive impact on the world of motorsport.
“This opens opportunities for new ways to engage with fans, and a chance to introduce state-of-the-art technology into various areas of the team. We’re excited to see where this partnership will go.”
Andretti has competed in seven seasons of Formula E and boasts an impressive eight pole positions, 17 podiums, and seven ABB FIA Formula E wins.
Season eight of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship starts on January 28 with the Diriyah E-Prix in Saudi Arabia.
Avalanche Andretti Formula E will contest two full-season entries, both utilising BMW racing eDrive03 drivetrains, with two-time Formula E champion Jake Dennis being tipped to be one of the two drivers.
The Formula E leged spoke about his car’s new livery and the AVAX partnership.
“I’m super excited for this new partnership to join together with Andretti and Avalanche,” he told Coin Rivet.
“I really like the colour scheme and design for next season’s race car – it’s bold, clean and noticeable to the eye which is what you want. I think it will draw attention to us as a team in very exciting ways.
“What’s cool is that both parties have the same goal which is to try and be the best they possibly can in their own industries. With this passion I believe merging the two together we can improve the race car and see what new software we can come up with to try and give us the best possible chance to win FE in 2022”.
