HSBC India und ING Bank Brussels haben eine Blockchain-fähige Live-Trade-Finance-Transaktion mit Reliance Industries und Tricon Energy durchgeführt.
Die Hindu Business Line berichtet, dass ING Bank die Letter of Credit Transaktion für Tricon Energy herausgegeben hat und die HSBC India die Beratungs- und Verhandlungsbank für Reliance Industries war. Dies wurde auf der Corda Blockchain-Plattform von R3 ausgeführt.
„Diese Transaktion bestätigt die kommerzielle und betriebliche Rentabilität von Blockchain als Alternative zu herkömmlichen Börsen für papierbasierte Dokumentation“, sagte HSBC India und fügte hinzu, dass Zeit und Kosten für die Verarbeitung von Papierdokumenten oft Abschreckungen für Exporteure sind und das Tempo des Handels verzögert.
Hitendra Dave, Head-Global Banking and Markets, HSBC India, kommentierte: „Der Einsatz von Blockchain ist ein wichtiger Schritt in Richtung Digitalisierung des Handels und ermöglicht mehr Transparenz und mehr Sicherheit und macht es einfacher und schneller.“
R3, HSBC und ING planen gemeinsam mit Bangkok Bank, BNP Paribas, CTBC Holding, NatWest, SEB und Standard Chartered, die Corda-Plattform auf Open-Source-Basis zu erweitern, um die Akzeptanz in der gesamten Branche voranzutreiben.
