Online poker has advanced rapidly over the past decade with punters putting down Doyle Brunson’s renowned Super System to learn strategy from Twitch streamers.

With online poker players typically spending up to 70 hours per week learning and playing poker, the variety of strategies is constantly evolving.

That is why there has been such an emerging trend of viewers flocking to Twitch poker streams, with the top streamers regularly topping more than 10,000 viewers at any given time.

Here is a list of the top three streamers that poker players should follow.

Lex Veldhuis

Dutch professional poker player Lex Veldhuis streams numerous times per week with focus on the Saturday and Sunday grind.

The 36-year-old stumbled into the world of poker by accident after meeting fellow pro Bertrand Grospellier at a StarCraft event in 2005.

He deposited his first $10 to Pokerstars and since then has become one of the most well-known names in online poker.

One of his most-watched streams took place in September as he came second in the $2,100 buy in high-roller event, cashing more than $91,000

Jeff Gross

PartyPoker professional Jeff Gross is also one of  the most prolific streamers on Twitch, providing content every single day whether it be online tournaments or replays.

According to his website Gross has more than $5 million in career tournament earnings and is also a frequent high stakes cash game player.

His largest win at the World Series of Poker came in 2011 when he came second in the $5,000 no-limit Hold’em shootout, taking home $269,742.

Jeff’s astute knowledge of poker strategy coupled with his calm demeanour gives him a clear edge over opponents online and at live tournaments, his way of explaining decisions in high-pressure situations also make his streams engaging, which is undoubtedly one of the many reasons why he is one of the most popular poker streamers.

Jaime Staples

Humble 28-year-old Canadian poker player Jaime Staples is another ever-present within the Twitch poker community with more than 130,000 followers.

He often plays multiple tables online after revealing that his focus is solely on streaming as opposed to live tournaments.

Staples’ online net cashes exceed $1 million while he has also finished in the money at two WSOP events and one European Poker Tour.

He lives with his brother Matt and as well as Big Brother Canada contestant Kevin Martin, with all three regularly streaming on Twitch.
