Following the announcement last week that LIFElabs.io had become the first digital currency to officially sponsor a European Tour golfing event, the venture is now providing world number 50 Eddie Pepperell a £10,000 prize, after he sunk the first hole-in-one on the 9th hole at the British Masters yesterday evening.
In line with its commitment to dedicate 30% of its currency (LIFEtokens) to global philanthropic causes, LIFElabs is matching Pepperell’s prize money with a donation to both Cancer Research UK and The European Tour Foundation, whose charity pick for 2018 is The Woodlands Special Needs School.
The European Tour event is taking place at Walton Heath, with the overall winner being revealed after the final round on Sunday, 14th October. The field includes 2013 US Open Champion Justin Rose playing host at the Surrey venue. He will head up a field which also includes the reigning Race to Dubai Champion Tommy Fleetwood.
