Douglas County busca aprovechar el boom de blockchain. El condado de Douglas de Washington está buscando construir un campus de innovación blockchain en una planta de silicio no utilizada, informa The Seattle Times.
El fácil acceso a la energía hidroeléctrica barata provocó un auge de las criptomonedas en 2017, aunque esto fue seguido por un colapso en 2018. Pero hay más en la historia que boom y busto, argumenta Lisa Parks, directora ejecutiva del condado de Port of Douglas.
“Tenemos algunos activos únicos que hacen que nuestra región sea atractiva para esa industria”, añade. “Vamos a encontrar una manera de capitalizarlo”.
