Gates Foundation greenlights Ripple, Coil blockchain partnership

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is working with Ripple and Coil to implement the former’s Interledger Protocol.

The Foundation’s Deputy Director and Principal Technologist Miller Abel made the announcement in a tweet on 17th October. The partnership will also explore ways in which Mojaloop can support “pro-poor payment systems.”

Coil also took to Twitter to promote the agreement.

Mojaloop is open source software for financial services companies, government regulators tackling interoperability and financial inclusion challenges. Further details here.
