Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger appoints new CTO

Ledger has appointed security expert Charles Guillemet as its new Chief Technology Officer

Paris-based hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has appointed Charles Guillemet as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer.

According to a press release, Guillemet will continue to oversee security operations at Ledger having founded the company’s security department in 2017.

Since joining Ledger, Guillemet has been instrumental in procuring independent security certificates for both the Nano S and Nano X wallets.

“Throughout my time at Ledger, I have had the pleasure of leading a world class team of security researchers that has set the standard for blockchain security,” said Guillemet.

“Security and technology go hand in hand at Ledger, so my appointment to CTO is a natural extension of the critical work we are doing everyday to improve the security of the products we build.”

Ledger’s CEO, Pascal Gauthier, noted that Guillemet has played a “pivotal role” in building Ledger into the security company it is today, while praising him as “one of the industry’s top security minds”.

“We are confident that his appointment to CTO will further enhance Ledger’s security technology in an increasingly connected world where hackers are becoming more sophisticated,” he added.
