Hedera Hashgraph names Lionel Chocron as Chief Product Officer

San Francisco, CA. 6th February 2019 – Hedera Hashgraph, a next-generation public ledger designed to have highly diversified governance and the most distributed consensus at scale, today announced the appointment of Lionel Chocron as Chief Product Officer.

Chocron joins Hedera from Oracle, where he recently led their emerging technology (Blockchain, IoT, AI) solution efforts across industries. Adding to the strength of the product team, Hedera has also appointed Atul Mahamuni as Senior Vice President of Products and Nigel Clark as Senior Vice President of Partners and Industries.

“Hedera’s mission is to build the industry’s first enterprise-grade platform,” says Mance Harmon, Co-Founder and CEO of Hedera. “Lionel has deep expertise in understanding the needs of enterprises, incubating solutions, and bringing them to market through appropriate channels to drive adoption. We are thrilled to have Lionel, Atul, and Nigel onboard as we continue our roll-out of a platform designed to be robust enough to run the most mission-critical applications.”

Before joining Hedera, Chocron was Vice President, Industry and Emerging Technology, at Oracle. Prior to that, he was Vice President and General Manager at Cisco, where he co-launched, productised, and scaled Cisco’s fast-growing Internet of Things (IoT) business. Chocron previously held roles at A.T. Kearney, Bain & Company, and BNP Paribas. He has an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, a Masters in Engineering from McGill University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Ecole des Mines.

Mahamuni has many years of experience in product management. He was previously Vice President — Blockchain SaaS Apps and Internet of Things (IoT) SaaS Apps, PaaS Platform at Oracle. Prior to that he served in product management, strategy, and development roles at Cisco, Juniper Networks, and Nokia.

Clark is a seasoned go-to-market leader. Most recently, in his role as Global Industry Solutions and Emerging Technology lead at Oracle, he focused on bringing solutions to market around Blockchain, IoT, and AI. He was also previously Mobility Services lead for Accenture and SVP of Global Business Development at Clicksoftware.

Hedera’s vision is to create a safer, fairer, more secure internet — one in which online communities can collectively create and evolve shared worlds in cyberspace, and on which developers can build trusted applications that enable collaboration and commerce, without entrusting a central organisation with personal data. To realise this vision, Hedera has focused on addressing four fundamental roadblocks to the adoption of public distributed ledger technology — technology, security, stability, and governance.
