ING releases cryptocurrencies research

Dutch financial institution, ING, has published research on attitudes to the rise of digital currencies such as Bitcoin and what they might mean for our money.

This finds that 66% of Europeans have heard of cryptocurrencies, while 35% believe Bitcoin is the future of spending online and 32% see it as the future of investing.

9% own cryptocurrency, while 25% plan to do so in the future. However, 29% said they would never invest in this space. 46% of those interviewed believe betting on shares to be a less risky prospect.
