It’s official: crypto is as big as Riri

Fortune’s latest 40 Under 40 list features a number of cryptocurrency industry figures.

The magazine’s annual ranking of the most influential young people in business has Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the number two spot, behind Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom. So far, so predictable. But it starts to get interesting after that.

Coming in at number 20 is Coinbase Co-founder Brian Armstrong, one spot ahead of singer/actress/business woman, Rihanna. And numbers 22 and number 24 are occupied by Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and Robinhood founder Vlad Tenev respectively.

New crypto industry slogan ahoy!

It was all too much for Boost VC founder, Brian Armstrong, who tweeted: ‘This is awesome! @brian_armstrong and @VitalikButerin and @vladtenev are ranked #20 and #22 and #24 on the @FortuneMagazine#40Under40. #21 is @rihanna! “#Crypto is as big as #Riri” – new slogan for our industry’.
