Atlético-PR President Mario Celso Petraglia, who calls the deal an “innovation in Brazil’s sports market”, explains the partnership provides the team with a 12-month grace period to use the IVI token and to promote it through sponsorship on the club’s jersey or in their website.
Petraglia adds that the football club plans to utilise the cryptocurrency for transfer negotiations, payment of salaries as well as costs and expenses.
The football executive says “cryptocurrencies have been gaining value and we have no doubt about that. I, in particular, will be part of [those who] purchase this currency as an investment for my personal savings and recommend it to everyone.”
Inoovi CEO Loic Lacam reveals that he is currently targeting other football clubs across Europe and is in negotiations with Turkish clubs Galatasaray, Fenerbache, and Besiktas, and also with Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk.
IVI has seen a price surge tenfold from $0.10 (£0.076) to $1.00 (£0.76) since this announcement a few days ago.
