Nebeus goes crowdfunding as it eyes global expansion

There is a global demand for low entry costs of capitalism, borderless transfers of wealth and shared economic growth, it claims

UK-based crypto platform, Nebeus, has launched a £1.1 million ($1.45 million) crowdfunding campaign as part of its mission to champion an inclusive, borderless, global economy.

The venture has so far raised almost £430,000. It is backed by Brett King, Co-founder and CEO of US mobile banking startup Moven and author of such books as Breaking Banks: The Innovators, Rogues, and Strategists Rebooting Banking?

“I am excited to help guide Nebeus as it rapidly evolves past its live lending businesses into a crypto financial services supermarket platform, and augments this platform by launching its own bank on it,” he said when he last year became a lead advisor and shareholder.

Global demand

Since launching in 2017, the FinTech has transacted more than €34 million through almost 30,000 wallets, and facilitated £1.9 million in P2P Bitcoin loans.

“There is a global demand for low entry costs of capitalism, borderless transfers of wealth and shared economic growth,” its Crowdcube page claims.“A successful ICO has enabled us to develop a proprietary platform. We have worked with partners in Africa to set up payment gateways and launch a pre-paid crypto card. Users can hold, transact, borrow, lend and spend both crypto and fiat.”

Nebeus is targeting those currently marginalised by traditional banking. It operates in 45 countries and plans to expand into Europe, Asia and South America.
