Bitcoin ()

Bitcoin is a decentralised digital protocol that allows it users to transfer value directly between participants without the need for third parties or central intermediaries. The project was created by the anonymous founder or group that used the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. It was announced on a cryptography mailing list in 2008 with the first ever Bitcoin transaction taking place in January 2009. Since its inception Bitcoin has inspired a whole industry based upon the ideals of decentralisation and empowering the individual.
