Ethereum Classic (ETC)Ethereum Classic is the original and unaltered version of the Ethereum blockchain. In 2016 Ethereum suffered from a hack in which $50 million were stolen from a DAO. After much debate within the Ethereum community, it was decided that Ethereum would roll back the blockchain to remove the hack. Ethereum Classic was the by product that maintained the original blockchain, hack included. Supporters of Ethereum Classic believe that “code is law” and advocate for blockchain immutability.
