Just 62 players remain in this year’s iteration of the Venom tournament on America’s Cardroom as the action heats up over a whopping $10 million prize pool.
Known as being one of the largest online poker tournaments of the calendar year, the winner will take home a hefty $1.18 million payday with the entire final table being guaranteed at least $60,000.
The buy-in for the tournament was $2,500 + $150, which was paid by a total of 3,782 players. This means that, unfortunately for the operator, the $10 million guarantee was not met and that there is a $600,000 overlay.
The chip leader is based in the United States and goes by the alias ‘galaxycygnus’, with more than 50 million chips going into the penultimate day.
Day 2 of the $10 Million Venom is over and it didn’t disappoint in the least! Congrats to the 62 out of 642 players who are moving on to Day 3 tomorrow (Tuesday, February 1st) at 1pm ET.#venomtournament pic.twitter.com/gPFn9bNjya

Play will resume at 6pm GMT on Tuesday and will play down to the final eight players.
The final table will be livestreamed on Twitch this Wednesday at 10pm GMT.
The Venom tournament has become one of the largest online poker tournaments of all-time, with the record being set by a WSOP event on GG Poker in 2020, which saw 5,802 entries with a prize pool exceeding $27.5 million.
Two weeks ago, Tony G took part in the largest online cash game pot in history. A $1.8 million pot was chopped with casino owner Leon Tsoukernik in a frenetic game of pot-limit Omaha.
