Banco Central da Índia: blockchain pode ajudar a evitar fraudes bancárias

O vice-governador do banco central da Índia, Usha Thorat, declarou que blockchain tem o potencial de prevenir fraudes bancárias.

Poderia, por exemplo, ter ajudado a deter uma fraude multimilionária cometida pelo comerciante de diamantes Nirav Modi, que supostamente roubou o Banco Nacional do Punjab (PNB).

Sim para blockchain, não para crypto

O governo da Índia anunciou este ano que Bitcoin e altcoins não seriam considerados como moeda legal, embora um funcionário do RBI esteja aparentemente experimentando uma criptografia do banco central. No entanto, a Índia adotou a tecnologia blockchain.

Vários governos locais no país já estão experimentando a blockchain, incluindo uma iniciativa chamada Índia Chain para a economia digital.

Em Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa e Uttar Pradesh blockchain é usado para registro de registros de terra.
