Online retailer SHOP.COM now accepting cryptocurrency payments

American e-commerce platform SHOP.COM now accepts cryptocurrency payments following a partnership with payment provider BitPay.

The partnership allows shoppers on SHOP.COM to pay for their items via the BitPay wallet at the checkout phase.

Currently, users can pay with Bitcoin (BTC),  Bitcoin Cash (BCH),  Ethereum (ETH),  Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Dogecoin (DOGE),  Litecoin (LTC), and an array of stablecoins including GUSD, USDC, PAX, DAI, and BUSD.

COO & President of SHOP.COM, Steve Ashley, described the partnership as the “next chapter in purchasing products on all SHOP.COM sites” and noted the BitPay integration was available worldwide in all of the countries Market America operates in.

“Today I’m announcing that SHOP.COM is going to be offering Bitcoin, Ethereum and several other cryptocurrencies through BitPay,” he said.

“We’re going to be offering this at SHOP.COM sites worldwide in all of our Market countries. We went with BitPay because they are the industry leader. They are the world’s largest in Bitcoin and crypto payment services.”

BitPay is a crypto payment service provider that enables merchants to handle and settle crypto payments. BitPay currently partners with services such as Shopify, Microsoft and Shopify, and recently announced it will support Google Pay and Samsung Pay in its wallet.

BitPay also revealed a partnership with DeFi platform 1Inch, which provides users access to yield farming and DEX services via the BitPay wallet.
