New Jersey online poker surges to record high

The ongoing online poker boom has made its way to the United States with New Jersey operators reporting record highs of revenue in March.

According to figures released by the Division of Gaming Enforcement, the New Jersey online gaming market generated $3.6 million in March, making it the most successful month since it was first legalised and regulated in November 2013.

Prior to this the best month for online poker in New Jersey was in January 2014 when it earned a total of $3.4 million in revenue.

The spike in revenue and activity is undeniably connected to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, which has caused poker fans at home to flock back to the online tables.

With revenue doubling from February to March a further increase is expected when April’s numbers are released. The recent success has prompted poker players in the US to begin pleading with authorities to legalise it on a federal level.

The All American Poker Network (AAPN) set a personal record of $1.6 million in revenue last month while it was WSOP NJ that continues to take the market share.

The partypoker network also enjoyed a fruitful month by raking in $825k in revenue to become its most successful month in four years.

Pokerstars NJ performed similarly to partypoker after recording its second best month since launching in April 2016.
