Poker rooms set to reopen with four-handed tables

Live poker will be returning to many areas of the world this month with The Derby Lane in Florida and Kings Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, both opening their doors on May 11.

It’s expected that other poker rooms and casinos will subsequently re-open for the first time in six weeks after coronavirus prompted action to come to an abrupt halt.

Casinos in Las Vegas have also confirmed to be following suit although strict restrictions will be placed on punters entering the venues.

According to a policy letter published by the The Nevada Gaming Control Board, poker tables will be restricted to four people as it needs to comply with social distancing measures.

The update will come as welcome news to professional poker players and dealers residing in Las Vegas, with many of the dealers missing out on income due to working on a freelance basis.

It is currently unclear whether restrictions will be lifted in countries like the United Kingdom and Italy due to the severity of the outbreak, but the success of Kings’ reopening may set a precedent.

King’s revealed its decision to reopen on Facebook with an announcement stating: “King’s Resort Rozvadov, King’s Casino Prague and the Admiral Casino Rozvadov open again on May 11th at 15:00!

“Poker Cash Games, live games like Roulette and Black Jack and Slots will be available. Tournaments won’t take place for now, but we hope we can start with them soon as well!
“Highest hygiene standards will be implemented, such as hand sanitizers for the guests and frequent disinfection of all areas.
