Shiba Inu accepted by America’s largest VR centre

VR World – the largest virtual reality experience centre in North and South America – has embraced cryptocurrency… by accepting Shiba Inu.

Founded in 2017, the New York-based club features more than 50 virtual reality experiences, including the likes of gaming, art, and film, and now ventures further into the digital world.

Shiba Inu was the first-named cryptocurrency that would be accepted as payment at VR World and it’s yet another achievement for the meme coin, which looks primed to end the year in the top 15 cryptocurrencies in the world (currently at number 13), according to CoinMarketCap.

The virtual reality centere teamed up with Bitpay – one of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency payment service providers – therefore purchases made with Shiba will be possible at merchants who already accept BitPay as well as digital gift cards through its wallet app.

Already a player in the NFT world, VR World hosted the after-party for the NFT.NYC conference last month, and its CEO – Leo Tsimmer – said the embrace of cryptocurrency was a natural fit for the company and it was only a matter of time before they made that decision.

“With our business of mixed reality location-based entertainment is a natural fit to digital art, gaming, esports and all things in [the] crypto-universe, it was only a matter of time when we would offer our corporate and retail customers another way to transact,” he said.

SHIBA ending 2021 on a high

It’s been a truly remarkable year for Shiba Inu, experiencing a ‘150,000 x’ price increase throughout 2021 as well as the adoption of the crypto globally.

Created as a meme at first to rival Dogecoin, Shiba blew up and actually overtook its adversary this past year in the ranking of biggest cryptocurrencies in the world before relinquishing the position back to Dogecoin which sits in 12th (one place ahead of Shiba).
