Ticketmaster notches up blockchain first with Upgraded deal

The company has become the first major traditional live music industry player to invest in the blockchain space

Ticketmaster has acquired San Francisco-based blockchain ticketing solution, Upgraded. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The startup converts traditional tickets into secure interactive digital assets protected by blockchain which prevents fans from purchasing fraudulent tickets and provides event creators with more control over ticket distribution.
