Veteran Microsoft engineer to lead developer experience at NEO Global Development

NEO Global Development has hired former Microsoft software engineer Harry Pierson to lead development for the NEO Toolkit and NEO Express projects, according to a press release shared with Coin Rivet.

During Pierson’s 24 years at Microsoft, he was a founding member of the Windows Runtime team as well as xlang, which focused on improving interoperability between different coding languages.

Pierson will become NEO Global Development’s chief architect in Seattle, where he revealed he’s excited to work alongside former Microsoft colleague John deVadoss.

“What NEO is trying to do is groundbreaking. The NEO team already has a stellar reputation for supporting its community and developers, but they want to take this a step further and make NEO the best blockchain platform in the world for developers to work on,” he said.

“My work on programming language interoperability puts me in an ideal position to help make NEO more ‘dev-friendly’. Developers think in a unique way, and I think my experience working to make all languages compatible with one another will be a valuable addition to NEO’s arsenal.

“I can’t wait to get stuck in to this exciting role, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the global community, with a singular mission set by NEO co-founder Da Hongfei – to become the number one blockchain by 2020.”

John deVadoss reiterated Pierson’s excitement with claims that he will bring a deep technical understanding to NEO Global Development’s Seattle team.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Harry to the team,” deVadoss said. “Harry is the ideal person to make the F5 developer experience real for the blockchain world.”
