Vitalik Buterin tells BCH community to ostracise Craig Wright over coin changes

Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin has told the Bitcoin Cash community to avoid compromising with Craig Wright over his proposed changes to the coin.

Wright, the Chief Scientist at nChain, who has also claimed to be Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto, wants to create a new full node implementation for Bitcoin Cash called Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (Bitcoin SV). Created for miners, it seeks to restore Bitcoin to its original vision.

Buterin has now weighed in on the hard fork dispute within the Bitcoin Cash community. He argues on Twitter that the community should “embrace it as an opportunity to conclusively ostracise and reject” Wright.

Bitcoin Craig (BCC) can go take the ticker symbol from the now-defunct cryptocurrency to which it is a fitting successor,” he says.

“They want it, they can fork it, without us”

The launch of Bitcoin SV is due to take place before the Bitcoin Cash hard fork, which is scheduled for November and will be led by Bitcoin ABC team.

Bitcoin ABC has proposed different changes in the upcoming hard fork which will not be included in Bitcoin SV. This is because Bitcoin SV would not support any other changes once implemented on Bitcoin Cash.

Wright recently said: “They want it, they can fork it, without us.”

It isn’t the first time Buterin has opposed Wright. During the Deconomy 2018 conference, he called him a fraud and questioned his presence in the conference in front of the mass audience.

Some Twitter users are fed up with the long-running feud, with one saying: “How about we actually look at the technical merits of nChain’s proposals rather than turn this into a pissing contest between personalities?”

However, another tweets: “Sorry but I don’t agree that such a chain deserves to be called Bitcoin ____. I find ‘Faketoshi Fork’ more fitting.”
