Wirex launches new easy-to-use Ripple wallet

Cryptocurrency card supplier Wirex has launched its new Ripple wallet that enables users to buy, sell, exchange and deposit Ripple (XRP) using its app.

“We’re the only digital money platform that lets you exchange and spend Ripple like traditional currency – in-store and online,” Wirex claims.

It is now one of the only digital payment platforms to offer full support for XRP, which the firm claims to be a “cheap and stable altcoin”.

It adds that “while the value of most cryptocurrencies is influenced by the oscillations of Bitcoin, Ripple is independent of the Bitcoin blockchain and has grown considerably in value … XRP was the best performing altcoin in 2017”.

The wallet allows for easy conversion of Ripple to fiat and spending with the Wirex card in shops, restaurants, pubs and even transportation. However, it is only available to people living in the European Economic Area (EEA).

The app also allows for easy buying, selling, exchanging and depositing. Users can also link their debit or credit cards to the wallet and exchange 50 supported altcoins with XRP. Users can also exchange between US dollars, British pounds, euros, Bitcoin and Litecoin as well as enjoy free crypto transactions between Wirex users.
