Bitcoin Cash lost 94% of its value during 2018

2018 was a torrid year for cryptocurrencies. The price of BCH dropped an astonishing 94% since it opened at $2,359.30 on January 1st, 2018. It closed on December 31st, 2018 at $148.66.

Despite the hammering the price of BCH took in 2018, it remains one of the biggest, most well known, and most widely traded cryptocurrencies around. It is one of the top 10 cryptocurrenices by market capitalisation.

About Bitcoin Cash

Bitcoin Cash was born out of the idea of making Bitcoin more practical for small, day-to-day payments. In May 2017, Bitcoin payments took about four days unless a fee was paid, which was proportionately too large for small transactions. A change to the code was implemented and Bitcoin Cash was born on August 1st, 2017.
