Crypto.com announces key FemTech hires

Hong Kong-based Crypto.com, a wallet, exchange and payments platform, has announced three new additions to its team.

CEO Kris Marszalek says the new hires will help boost his firm’s “ability to offer innovative financial services products and ultimately power our mission of accelerating the world’s transition to cryptocurrency”.

Adrienne Wong is now the new Senior Vice President, Head of Product. Cerulean Hu is lead blockchain engineer, and Ivan Stefanov Senior Vice President of Risk Management.

Wong comes from US FinTech firm Square, where she was in charge of managing its global strategy and market launches for its Square Point product. She was also in charge of Square’s expansion in Canada, the UK, Australia and the USA. Before that, Wong worked for Deloitte as a strategy and operations consultant.

“I’m excited to be part of a team that is working to revolutionise the financial services industry and make cryptocurrency a key part of people’s lives,” Wong says. “I’m keen to bring my background in financial services product strategy to the company as we launch our product suite globally.”

Cerulean Hu

Cerulean has a strong background in both blockchain technology and traditional financial services industries.

She was the lead engineer at Equichain and then FINCOVA, where she implemented blockchain solutions. At ANAX, she led the development of finance and trading systems. Prior to ANAX, Cerulean worked for HSBC developing trading algorithms.

Ivan Stefanov

Stefanov has more than 11 years of experience in risk management in different sectors of the online payments ecosystem. He has a background in digital wallets, working at the likes of Skrill and NETELLER. He cofounded NOTOLYTIX, a data processing startup that caters to all aspects of risk management.

“Joining Crypto.com is an exciting next step in my professional development,” Stefanov says. “I’m looking forward to applying my experience as I work to ensure that Crypto.com products are compliant with evolving global regulations, industry’s best practices, and protect consumer interests.”
