Bluzelle, the decentralised storage system for creators, has announced the next step in NFT file storage solutions with Bluzelle R2.
Bluzelle specialises in decentralised data delivery. It was the first company to create such a system back in 2019. Now it’s tackling data delivery for storage.
Bluzelle R2 comes in response to growing concerns over the lack of immutability provided.
R2 will also remove the high cost associated with replicating an item over the traditional interPlanetary File System (IPFS), the traditional file system for non-fungible tokens.
The new system will store NFTs in all nodes, rather than one which is convention under IPFS. This will happen at internet speeds without additional costs for the user.
The network will use architecture similar to torrents, accessing the data from all nodes simultaneously which will provide an un-censorable asset.
“Time and time again in crypto we see solutions that are not as decentralised, not as secure or not as advanced become the norm. Why? Because people care about usability above all, and this factor will always trump any kind of ideological or ‘nice to have’ criteria,” said Pavel Bains, Bluzelle CEO.
“This is why our file storage solution aims to be decentralised without sacrificing usability. Too many engineers get lost in designing a cool piece of tech for its own sake, few of them care about how the end-user will perceive it.
“Currently the blockchains assure right of ownership of the NFT you purchase. But you don’t have any assurance that your NFT asset is stored securely.
“Only Bluzelle R2 provides storage of your NFT in multiple places that is verified by our blockchain. Each NFT platform over the next 12 months should be transitioning to the security provided by Bluzelle R2.”
