Blockchain health app Lympo secures partnership with Harmony

Blockchain-based health app Lympo has secured a partnership with Harmony, a scalable blockchain consensus platform, according to a press release shared with Coin Rivet.

Lympo, which is currently available in the US and South Korea, rewards users in the form of LYM tokens for exercising and completing fitness-related challenges. It has gained more than 260,000 users in just eight months.

Coin Rivet reported on Lympo’s integration with the Samsung blockchain wallet in July, which allows users to withdraw LYM tokens directly to Samsung smartphones.

Harmony, which is built by a team of engineers from Google, Apple, Amazon, Harvard, and Stanford, will assist with scaling Lympo’s exponential growth in 2019 as well as handling the data sharing aspect of the app.

“Harmony’s technology will help us to reach Lympo’s vision to reward everyone for building healthy lifestyle habits,” said Lympo CEO Ada Jonuse.

“Secure and scalable health data sharing will be possible with Harmony’s blockchain infrastructure targeting millions of new users.”

Harmony co-founder Nick White added: “We are always looking for projects like Lympo who are looking for a scalable blockchain to handle its exponential growth. We see data sharing as one of the core use cases of Harmony and we believe that with Lympo, we can really pave the road for what data sharing looks like on the blockchain.”
