Ethereum Classic 51% attacker returns $100k to crypto exchange

The recent ETC 51% attacker has returned $100,000 to crypto exchange Gate.io, a blog post notes.

“We were trying to contact the attacker but we haven’t got any reply until now,” the post states. “We still don’t know the reason. If the attacker didn’t run it for profit, he might be a white hacker who wanted to remind people the risks in blockchain consensus and hashing power security.”

Last week, Gate.io published its analysis of the 51% attack. Check it out here.
