eToro – a global investment platform with more than 10 million registered users – has added Tron’s TRX cryptocurrency to its platform.
The move was announced in a Tron Foundation Medium post. eToro now has a total of 15 cryptocurrencies on its platform.
The other cryptocurrencies available to eToro users are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Stellar, NEO, EOS, Cardano, IOTA, BNB, and ZCash.
TRX will also be added to eToro’s CryptoPortfolio, which enables investors to diversify across all available crypto-assets with just a single click.
Investors buying TRX on the eToro platform will own the real underlying asset, as they do with any other cryptos offered on the platform.
Co-founder and CEO of eToro Yoni Assia commented: “Tron is making fast progress towards lofty ambitions, and has rightly garnered the attention of the crypto community. Given the relative youth of blockchain technology, investors in crypto-assets are investing in big ideas and seeking out companies that execute on big ideas.
“Tron certainly ticks that box. At eToro we look to offer investors access to crypto-assets that already have some clear success behind them.”
Tron has recently gained a lot of traction after acquiring BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer file sharing site that has more than 100 million active users. BitTorrent has now launched its own cryptocurrency, BTT, which is a utility token based on the Tron protocol.
Meanwhile, Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, stated: “With our listing on eToro, we’re giving TRX holders another great platform on which to manage their assets. These steps will help grow the blockchain community and expand our reach around the world.”
The move adds to a wave of recent positive news for Tron, which recently recorded $41 million in weekly betting volume on its TronBet platform.
