Footballer Andy Robertson set to release NFT collection

Liverpool Football Club and Scotland international Andy Robertson will be donating money to his AR26 charity through the release of an NFT collection.

Robertson confirmed the exclusive partnership with Sportemon Go – an NFT-augmented reality sports trading platform – on Twitter.

Robertson joins Manchester United star Luke Shaw in joining Sportemon Go in a move that the platform’s CEO – Ricky Jackson – says will create exciting collectibles for football fans across generations to enjoy.

“We’re over the moon to be partnering with some of the best talent in the Premier League for a series of NFTs, that commemorates their playing career, special memories, moments, and memorabilia in an authentic digital format,” Jackson said.

“Together we will be creating some of the most exciting and dynamic digital collectibles for football fans to enjoy for generations to come.

“Pickstar has been instrumental in helping us in both the search and selection of these two incredible stars and we’re thrilled to be offering these Heroes NFTs for sale starting today with Luke Shaw.”

The Liverpool full-back said he’ll be giving away one of his limited edition NFTs on Twitter to celebrate.

The Scotland captain’s partnership with Sportemon Go is yet another collaboration between the football and NFT world in which we’ve seen the La Liga and Bundesliga – Spain and Germany’s top football divisions – partner with Sorare, the fantasy football platform, where an NFT collection of players from both leagues will be available to be bought and traded by users.
