Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX) has signed a memo of understanding (MOU) with blockchain startup Pundi X.
GCOX, built on the Acclaim blockchain and pitched as the world’s first celebrity cryptocurrency exchange, says that the partnership is aimed at customising a special version of a blockchain-powered Point of Sale terminal for bricks and mortar stores.
“The celebrity tokens will definitely gain popularity and high interest,” says Zac Cheah, CEO and Co-Founder of Pundi X. “With Pundi X PoS, it will make GCOX tokens much easier for people to transact and widen their adoption.”
Former Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer Michael Owen has joined GCOX as a celebrity, private investor and member of the board of advisors. He has plans to launch his token called the OWN.
Filipino champion boxer, singer and current senator in the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, is also on GCOX with a token called the PAC.
Most recently, US singer and songwriter Jason Derulo – who has sold over 20 million singles – joined the platform.
GCOX Chief Communications Officer Evan Ngow says his firm is “committed to assembling a diverse, multi-talented array of stars at GCOX, and Jason will certainly not be the last musician to join our ranks”.
