Government offering 40 free booths to startups for Malta Blockchain Summit

Malta’s government is giving 40 free booths to startup businesses as part of next month’s Malta Blockchain Summit.

The initiative – called the ‘Start-up Village’ – is the brainchild of Malta Enterprise which is the official investment arm of the Maltese government.

More than 4,000 delegates, 1,000 investors, 300 exhibitors and 100 speakers are expected to attend the event at the InterContinental on 1st and 2nd November. An array of superstars of the blockchain and cryptocurrency space will be delivering talks throughout the event – including John McAfee.

The Start-up Village will provide 40 innovators from across the globe with a free 1m by 1m booth, VIP tickets for the founding team, and free inclusion into an exclusive dinner.

To be eligible for the Start-up Village, the company must be less than 12 months old, in pre-ICO stage, and active within Blockchain, AI or IoT.

“We are proud to be working with Malta Enterprise in supporting innovation in this field by inviting these start-ups to our shores and have them benefiting from all the synergies they will be able to find at our show,” said Eman Pulis, Founder and CEO of the Malta Blockchain Summit.

Anthony David Gatt, Manager at Malta Enterprise’s Investment Promotion department, explained the aim of Malta Enterprise was to support the right business ideas in all phases of development.

“We believe that transformational technology, be it blockchain, AI or IoT, is key to the evolution of various industries,” he said.

“We are eager to meet the participants of the Start-up Village at MBS in order to outline our incentives and further explain the tangible assistance we can provide to companies who are looking to establish themselves in Malta.”
