Rapper Drake has confirmed placing Bitcoin bets worth a total of $1.26m on the upcoming Super Bowl match between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.
According to the crypto sports betting platform Stake, Drake bet more $471,000 for the Rams to be the winner, including overtime.
He also said he has confidence in the Rams’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr after betting approximately $392,000 on the player having more than 62.5 receiving yards and another $392,000 on him having more than 0.5 ‘anytime touchdowns’.
Drake wrote: “All bets are in on the family.”
Beckham Jr was quick to respond, replying: “It’s time.”
Beckham Jr has recently also partnered with Cash App and then revealed he would take his NFL salary in Bitcoin while promising to give back $1m in Bitcoin to his fans.
If all three of his bets turn out to be correct Drake will receive a grand total pay-out of almost $2.9m – about 65 Bitcoin.
This Super Bowl has already been dubbed the ‘Crypto Bowl’ – a reflection of the large number of crypto companies that have booked advertising spots.
