Litecoin goes Hollywood: LTC set to sponsor Mammoth film festival

Litecoin has announced it will be sponsoring the second annual Mammoth film festival in February 2019.

The film festival will take place at Mammoth Lakes, California from February 7th through to February 11th. The festival debuted last year and was heralded as “the biggest first-year film festival ever organised.”

Reportedly, each winning filmmaker will receive Litecoin as part of their prize.

The Litecoin Foundation will also have several members in attendance networking with celebrities, filmmakers, and festival attendees to educate them about Litecoin and the world of crypto.

The same members will also assist people with initiating their wallets to allow them to “experience the power of Litecoin firsthand.”

Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin, noted: “As we push for mainstream adoption, it makes sense to partner with a festival that is comprised of people who bring new ideas and visions to the world through the content they create, and one we can grow with through the years.”

The Mammoth film festival lineup includes nine world premiere features. These include Mads Mikkelsen survival thriller Arctic, Josh Duhamel’s new film The Buddy Games, and the Jean Claude Van Damme-led We Die Young.

Carte Blanche, a short film directed by Eva Dolezalova and starring Suki Waterhouse, Dylan Sprouse, and Jack Kilmer, will also be featured.

Tanner Beard, president of the Mammoth film festival, stated: “We feel it’s important to look forward in an ever-changing landscape of not just film and television, but in the worlds of tech, virtual reality, social media, and currency. The Litecoin Foundation is an organization that fits right with all of those ideas.”

Litecoin has been trying to maneuver itself into the mainstream a lot lately. The company has recently rebranded its logo and partnered with the UFC to promote more mainstream recognition.
