UK women interested in crypto investments doubles this year

Women will likely match the number of men involved in cryptocurrency in the next 12 months, a UK study reveals

Women in the UK are increasingly expressing interest in crypto investments, according to a study by the London Block Exchange.

The survey shows that the number of women looking into cryptocurrency trading has more than doubled in the last six months from 6% to 12.5%. The study reveals 20% of Millennial women would potentially invest.

The same survey says that if this trend continues, cryptocurrency could become a gender-balanced sector in a year.

“There is still a common misconception that cryptocurrency is a game for men, but we have seen hundreds of women sign up for our exchange in the last few months, and some of the most inspiring and knowledgeable investors leading the way in the industry are female,” says Agnes de Royere, senior business analyst at London Block Exchange.

The study suggests that women are likely to take a more strategic approach when investing in cryptocurrency. They plan better which crypto assets to purchase because they are, the study adds, 50% less likely than men to fear missing out on an “opportunity”.

Women also tend to consult friends and family before actually investing their savings, while men prefer a more individual approach, the study concludes.
