Partypoker unveils debut NFT collection with Theta Labs partnership

Online poker platform partypoker is giving players and fans the chance to own a piece of its history with the launch of a debut NFT collection in association with Theta Labs.

The non-fungible tokens will highlight a selection of the most iconic moments and tournament hands in history from previous partypoker tournaments, with a select few featuring special ‘PokerApes– a collectable with a “partypoker twist” that showcase full 3D artwork and unique traits.

The collection has been developed in association with Theta Labs, a decentralised, blockchain-powered video delivery network that provides end-to-end infrastructure for video and NFT and Metaverse platforms.

Partypoker’s collection will also be featured on its own native marketplace – the first for an online poker platform – which will feature primary sales of new NFTs and a secondary marketplace for users to trade NFTs.

Through the application of NFT technology, partypoker now hopes to bring “exciting moments to the poker community and makes the partypoker experience even more engaging” for its vast online player base.

“Partypoker has established a history across 20 years full of great hands and epic poker moments that have happened during our live and online events,” said Vadim Soloveychik, partypoker Director.

“We are happy to give players the opportunity to own their very own piece of poker history in partnership with Theta. I am truly excited for partypoker to join the NFT space.”

The collaboration is the first stage of a broader partnership between Entain brands, Theta Labs and Ennovate – an Innovation Hub based in London that is soon to be opened by Entain.

Entain announced the launch of its ‘Ennovate innovation hub’ with a £100 million investment that will be used to invest in innovation projects, start-up investments and collaborations with UK, European and global partners.
